Pedagogical Conditions of a Comprehensive Care Center for the Sons and Daughters of UNED Workers

This work is a research that aims to provide an approach to what could be the desirable pedagogical conditions of a comprehensive child care center which serves the sons and daughters of the working parents of the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED), at the central headquarters in Mercedes de Montes de Oca. To this end, in its theoretical foundation the philosophical and pedagogical views and tenets of some educational thinkers in the Costa Rican, Latin American and European spheres was taken into consideration.
Regarding the findings of the research, it was possible to determine that there is a need for the UNED to have a child care center in the facilities of the central headquarters or surroundings, in accordance with the educational currents that promote a comprehensive education for the under-5-year-old children of UNED employees at the central headquarters.
Finally, we can conclude that the creation of a comprehensive day care center for children under 5 years of age at the headquarters or nearby would reduce absenteeism and would benefit employees from an emotional point of view, since they would feel less stress knowing that their children are under the care of education professionals.
