References on the care and support of LGBTI people in the Costa Rican educational system

This article systematizes in a chronological and descriptive manner the documents and references that deal with the care and support of LGTBI people in the Costa Rican educational system by the Ministerio de Educación Pública (MEP), its agencies and the officials of said ministry. It includes both the references generated by the ministry itself and those emanating from the Executive Branch that have an impact on the work of the MEP.
These references include institutional policies, executive decrees that refer to the work of MEP, circulars, resolutions, communications, study programs, action protocols, manuals and guidance documents.The purpose of this systematization is to facilitate the knowledge and effective implementation of said references to the MEP officials, to the students, to the human rights activists, and to civil society, as well as its effective implementation by all actors in the educational system.
Additionally, it shows the existence of institutional references that guide the actions of care and support of LGBTI students in the Costa Rican educational system, which are constituted as instruments for the guarantee and protection of the human rights of students.
